Best Dog Parks in El Paso

El Paso is a great place to raise your dog, and the city offers several outstanding dog parks.  Temperatures in the winter and fall are ideal as the weather is fairly mild.

But the summers can be hot and uncomfortable, so it’s important to limit your dog’s exercise and make sure you are offering plenty of cool water for both you and your four-legged friend.

I’ve compiled a list of the best dog parks in El Paso where you can have a blast with your dog.

1. Tierra Buena Dog Park

This charming dog park offers a big, open area for dogs to run and play. This gives your pet a great way to socialize with other dogs and people.

Tierra Buena has an area for big dogs and smaller dogs. There isn’t a lot of shade, so be sure to be properly dressed in the summer.

Remember to bring plenty of water for your dog as this park does not currently offer a water station.

2. Argal Dog Park

Argal Dog Park is centrally located between residential and business zones. There is a separate enclosed area for large and small dogs. Each area has its own secured entry with water fountains.

Parking is ample around the park. The seating areas are not overly shaded, so dress accordingly. Owners are expected to pick up after their dogs and use the trash bins to keep the park clean.

3. Gringo’s Bark Park

Gringo’s is a great place not only for dogs but for humans! Locals say it is one of the best dog parks in El Paso.

There are separate areas for large and small dogs, with plenty of room for them to run and play. There are water fountains as well. This is a wonderful, clean area that dogs and their owners love.

Gringo’s also offers a patio bar that is very dog friendly with treats for both you and your dog. You can relax with a cocktail while your dog plays safely in the exercise area.

The park is also frequented by food trucks if you want to spend the day.

4. Alethea Park

This park has plenty of lush green grass for dogs to play in, which is a plus, as it’s not always easy to find grass in El Paso. It’s a great place for dogs to socialize as well as people.

The park is partially enclosed with an opening at the entrance. Locals boast about the beautiful trails for walking and the gorgeous grounds.

5. Westside Dog Park

This awesome dog park has plenty of space and lots of friendly people. Locals say that Friday is the best day of the week to meet other dogs and families at this dog park in El Paso.

It boasts a nice hiking area as well.  Westside Dog Park is also kid-friendly and well kept, with plenty of room for kids to skateboard.

There are beautiful views, a dog water bowl area outside the gates, along with plenty of benches to relax. There are some smaller trees for shade in the summer to stay out of the heat.

6. Pavo Real Splash Park/Dog Water Park

Pavo Real is not only a dog park but a little splash pad as well, which is great in the hot Texas heat! The park is clean and has an enjoyable area to sit in while your dogs splash away in the water.

It’s a great family place that can be bustling with activity, especially during hot summer months! A great place to cool off.

7. Pebble Hills Dog Park

This beautiful park sits on over three acres and is located at the eastern end of PebbleHills. It has two areas, one for small dogs and one for large dogs.

A recent addition to the park was some obstacle courses, and there is talk of a water fountain in the future. Bring a chair as there are no benches. Also, be sure to bring plenty of water!

8. Eastwood Dog Park aka Album Park

This is an off-leash fun dog park that pets will love. It has gravel ground cover and plenty of agility equipment for fido.

There are also doggy bag stations as well as a good amount of shade. Be sure to bring plenty of water and pick up after our dog.

9. Sunrise Park

This is a nice city park in a residential area. The parking lot is limited, but it offers plenty of street parking—a great place for not only dogs but families as well.

Sunrise has clean bathrooms as well as shaded picnic areas. Plenty of walking trails for you and your dog with beautiful mountain views.

10. Barron Park

This family park offers many things to do along with walking trails for your dog. It’s a wonderful place for you and fido to have lunch, with a covered area to eat and spend time together.

There are porta potties for families. This park is small and off the beaten path but offers beautiful mountain views.
